Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community?, 1967
Some human minds are tarnished
and full of pride, divisiveness, hatred, and prejudice.
Most of these societal ills are based on
religious and cultural differences.
In times of conflict...
some may feel anger, fearful, and wronged.
They may even feel the need to lash out...
defend, attack, and get revenge.
They spend precious life moments
devising human schemes to defeat their opponents.
They are quick to utilize
the ways of the world to garner the "Big win!".
Their natural human emotions often try to direct
the behavior of others.
Let us not forget:
Misery loves to drag others down with it.
Let us not become slaves to our emotions.
When individuals, communities, cities, states, and nations
allow their emotions to guide their behavior,
inevitably, they end up not resolving anything.
They only make matters worse.
In the old testament, 1 King 3:5-15,
we are reminded that King Solomon,
who was the wisest of all men,
asked God for wisdom to rule the nation.
David looked to God
in his decision-making processes.
He was able to make a decision to battle Goliath,
not based on what he saw,
but on what he believed.
David's relationship with God and his past successes,
as a result of keeping God as His Guide,
enabled him to make his decision with confidence,
based on his past experiences with God.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were arrested.
Because they knew God and had a relationship with God...
they made a decision to not bow down
before the image of the king.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had a standard
that they would not compromise.
They would not worship a false god...
no matter what the consequence.
"Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us
from the burning fiery furnace.
Their relationship with God gave them confidence.
They knew God would deliver them out of the king's hand...
even if He didn't deliver them from the fire.
Our decisions cannot be based on knowing the future,
but on knowing and trusting God,
even when we don't understand.
In times of conflict...
we need to recognize God as God.
We need God's Wisdom and Peace...
we are powerless and foolish without Him.
With God in the forefront of all of our affairs...
we can make right decisions
and do things decently and in order.
God's way will always be the best route to take.
Not only in times of conflict, but at all times...
we need to confer with God
for practical guidance and insight
and not allow our natural human emotions
to commission our behavior.
We must stand solidly upon God’s ways
of dealing with conflict
and never forget what God has declared:
“From one man God made every nation of men,
that they should inhabit the whole earth;
and He determined the times set for them
and the exact places where they should live.
God did this so that men would seek Him
and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him,
though He is not far from each one of us”
In Genesis 11,
God scattered the people at the tower of Babel...
by confusing their tongues.
God supplied them with a diversity of languages,
but not to divide humanity.
Different identities should not lead to conflict.
It is only when God's divine guidance
and revealed truth are leading the way
that our thoughts, feelings, and actions
will reflect the ways of peace and the ways of Jesus Christ.
When we put God first and do, according to God's Word,
we will find the power to act rightly
even when our feelings try to drag us in the wrong direction.
Universal Peace and brotherhood of mankind
can be realized.
Mutual, peaceful co-existence of different cultures and faiths
is not an impossible mission. All of our lives intersect.
We can unite...
if based only on our mutual love for God.
Humans just need to step aside...
and let God abide.
May we not only hope,
but have a
Our mission is to be a positive channel
for sowing peace, unity, growth, and change.
Our mission is to raise our effectiveness
by communicating, through this website,
the dynamic of discovering peaceful
and unifying themes or vehicles
from which we can improve our environment,
cultivate a peaceful and united culture,
and do our part to help heal the causes of violence,
conflict, and injustice.
Our character today
may not be what it should be,
but it can change...
one breath at a time.
Our goal is not to secure applause and accolades.
Applause and accolades are empty and fleeting.
Our goal is to humbly remain driven
to do God's Will despite what we can or cannot see,
and cultivate, embrace, and pass on God's Peace
with care, love, and grace to the best of our ability.
Our mission/vision and decision may be considered lofty,
but not impossible.
Peace must be realized
with God and within us,
What we achieve inwardly
will change the outer reality.
God's Peace never decreases by being shared.
As we embrace the peace within ourselves...
we can then walk in peace
and share God's Peace with others.
God's Peace is a fruit
that comes from the tree of Love.
Inner peace comes from within us.
God's Peace within us help us
to easily overcome external problems
and lead us to peaceful outcomes.
Finding inner peace may be cultivated by
prayer, meditation, and knowing oneself.
Tapping into our inner resources helps us to
become more kind and aware.
It helps us to flourish as individuals.
We can easily overcome
external circumstances and become more
effective and resilient in our lives
when we cultivate the peace within us.
Inner peace helps us come to the realization
of our essence...
who we really are.
There is only benefit when we journey inward.
We can radiate God's peace to others
when we learn to live in peace
within ourselves, first.
“If we are to know peace we must look within ourselves.
In order to do this, we must learn to be still.
We must quiet the mind and learn to meditate.
Meditation helps us locate and find the center
that is within ourselves.
The center is where God resides.
When we start to look for peace,
we need to realize where it is within ourselves.
"The pioneers of peace are the young people
who refuse to take up arms."
God’s desire is that we come to know Him...
our lives depends on it.
When “God of all Peace” lives inside a believing heart
(1 Corinthians 6:19),
He begins to produce His own characteristics in that life.
As we decide to walk according to the highest light we have...
God's Peace gradually expands to include our homes,
our communities, and ultimately the Universe.
When we have made peace within ourselves...
we can obtain outer peace
and change what's going on
in our homes, communities,
Through inner peace, genuine
Universal peace can be realized.
Whenever we bring peace into any chaotic situation,
we contribute to the cause of peace.
May we overcome evil by following
the peaceful whispers of God's voice
It is our prayer that these morsels
will rest upon the souls of the masses,
and together we can pave the way
for future generations
so they may experience a healthy, peaceful,
and vibrant future.
Our Vision and
of allowing God of all Peace
to live in our hearts
equips and enables us to go,
do, and become
all that we were created to
do and become.
This inner peace, resulting from
choosing to have a relationship with God,
allows us to keep people, places, and things
in proper perspective.
Our world is in trouble... it is in a state of turmoil.
Atrocities are seemingly bombarding us on every end.
The whole universe appears to be in danger
and painfully suffering physically, mentally, and Spiritually.
Let us not hesitate to connect with the peace of God
that already exists within us.
The failure to realize peace within us
will hinder us from realizing external peace.
In peace we are better equipped to
address man's inhumanity to man at their roots,
quickly and persuasively.
We must get to the root; otherwise,
we can undermine peace and unity
for future generations.
Humanity must be awakened
with a large dose of God's Peace.
When we realize God's peace...
there is an absolute, unassailable, well-founded, steadfast,
unwavering, immovable, unswerving, unshakeableness within
which takes us through any situation we may face.
God's Peace will lead us to
In the midst of these confusing and destructive times,
we need to know You, O God.
Jesus’ mission on earth
was to restore peace.
Jesus came to serve, guide, and elevate all of humanity.
In the remembrance of God
may our hearts be exceedingly peaceful and united.
as individuals, communities, cities, states,
as a nation and universe,
This wisdom, of You, will allow us to address,
resolve, and root out the vast problems
confronting us, each and every day.
We know that in You, O God of all Peace,
there is no barrier or boundary
that Your Love cannot overcome.
You are able to dispel all darkness
and heal all the Spiritual dis-eases of humanity.
You are the Giver of all life.
You are everywhere and in our every breath.
You are our Creator and Controller of all.
You are Sovereign over all,
and no devil in hell can block or stop Your plans.
and You are within each of us,
We know that Peace will be impossible
unless we allow Your Peace to rule in us!
Help us, O God, to realize that
once we make real peace with You...
we will be able to attain and maintain
With You, O God, as our Leader and Guide,
we will never be misled or deceived,
and we will ultimately overcome and realize a Peace
which surpasses all human understanding
and can look and pay forward to a brighter,
more peaceful future.
May we decide to evolve into our Divine nature,
which is within us,
and receive the changing grace of God
Who teaches us to live soberly, righteously, and godly
in this present world, today.
- Thomas Jefferson
We are all united with God in love.
Hatred, jealousy, envy, greed, and limitations arise
from erroneous human beliefs.
We are all of one spirit, one humanity,
one human family...
a significant member of God's amazing Creation.
There is one God and Father of all.
God is over all, through all, and in all.
God is Creator of all.
He has authority over all.
He sustains all and is in control of all.
God's presence is everywhere and in everyone.
The peace of God brings harmony
among all sentient beings.
Worldly divisions mean nothing to God,
We, though many, are one body in Christ.
We are all a part of God's body.
The time has come for us to come together
and fulfill our role in the body.
Our true individuality is found, discovered, and experienced
in relationship to the body of Christ.
We are a gift of grace to the body of Christ.
We are one in Spirit, one in mind, and one in purpose.
Our individuality is a work of grace.
Each of us finds our meaning and function
as a part of the body of Christ.
Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us,
let us, gladly, use them.
For as in our earthly body we have many members.
We have hands, elbows, feet, knees, heart, liver, lungs,
kidneys, eyes, ears, mouth, nose, fingers, toes, etc.,
which are members of the body with different functions.
Each of our body parts has a different skill and a different job.
So, too, does the unity of the body of Christ, created in Christ.
This body includes all nations, all races, all ethnic groups.
what reward have you?
No one is born hating another person
because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion.
How we treat others is not dependent on how they treat us.
God wants us to be friendly toward all,
just as He is to all sentient beings.
Our pure motive should be to treat others
the way we want to be treated.
The Golden Rule, found in Luke 6:31:
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
If everyone lived by the Golden Rule
we would have very few problems.
People should be glad to see us,
not glad to see us leave.
Both our words and actions need to be encouraging.
The Bible says, uplifting words and actions
will help us get along with others.
We are to take the initiative to be friendly,
regardless of how the other person treats or mistreats us.
May we always treat others as we want to be treated,
not as we think they deserve to be treated,
but as we would want to be treated.
We can't go wrong doing right.
In doing unto others...
we can live as one.
People must learn to hate,
and if they can learn to hate,
they can be taught to love,
for love comes more naturally
to the human heart
than its opposite.
NELSON MANDELA, Autobiography
Peace is surrendering and yielding ourselves
Peace will also enable us to
yield our will over to God.
Peace enables us to
be moved from the stronghold of fear
into a life of harmony
(Isa. 26:3; II Tim. 1:7).
By coming into union with Christ...
we come into union with the members of the body of Christ.
We may differ in our ideas and hold different opinions,
but let us be gracious with one another.
loving one another in our differences,
shortcomings, and weaknesses.
Let us always remember and never forget:
We are one in Spirit...
and nothing can destroy that unity
which God Himself has formed.
May we pray toward, work toward,
and become who God created us to be.
May we become constant reflections
of God's unity and peace.
Our real duty is to overcome
The threads in God's masterpiece
are His children,
who like threads are in any tapestry,
are very different from one another.
and in unity is key.
Those who are blessed with inner peace
Peace is one of the most desirable fruits of salvation.
what a person eats or drinks.Rather, God's kingdom consists ofGod's Approval and Peace.
We are in God's Kingdom
and God's Kingdom is in us.
In knowing this...
we should change from the inside out,
so that we can live God's best life, now!
Do not be overcome by evil,
but overcome evil with good.
"The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, generosity,
How many people must Die
before we realize that we need Peace?
What is Unity?
freedom from disputes;
the absence of mental stress or anxiety;
a treaty to cease hostilities.Peace is the existence of healthy,
peacetime is not only the absence of war or conflict,
among humanity's highest values...
As we focus more on God
we come to realize...
regardless of race, creed, color,
nationality, religion, or species of life...
We can celebrate our diversity
because our many differences
point to the one thing
we all have in common -
God's love must be our model for life.
Yes, we are all different.
A peace song - sung in Amharic, Lingala and German!
Lyrics + translation of the song:
God's Love must be our model for life.
May the entire Universe look to the future
